Forgetting Sarah Marshall: : “The latest movie Produced by hit film maker Judd Apatow (40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad). Starring Jason Segal (How I Met Your Mother) and Kristin Bell (Veronica Mars) the screenplay (by Segal) tells the tale of a love sick composer of TV scores (Peter Bretter) who is dumped by his TV actress girlfriend. Peter retreats to Hawaii only to find that his ex and her rock star boyfriend (Aldous Snow, lead singer of the band Infant Sorrow) are staying at the same hotel. The hilarious cast also features several of Judd Apatow’s regulars including: Jonah Hill (Superbad) Paul Rudd (Knocked Up) and Bill Hader (SNL).The music is an integral part of the film. Several key scenes involve performances by the films’ characters of songs exactly as they appear on our CD including a number from the “rock opera about Dracula for puppets” that is composed by Peter. ” - read more.

40-Year-Old Virgin

40-Year-Old Virgin: : Featuring 17 Tracks That’ll Seal The Deal, Including 2 Cast Recordings

40-year-old Andy Stitzer (Steve Carell) has done quite a few things in his life. He’s got a cushy job stamping invoices at an electronics superstore, a nice apartment with a proud collection of action figures and comic books, good friends, a nice attitude. But there’s just one little thing he hasn’t quite gotten around to doing yet - something most people have done by his age. Done a lot. Andy’s never, ever, ever had sex - not even by accident. So is that such a big deal?

Well, for Andy’s buds at the store, it sure is. Although they think he’s a bit of an oddball, there’s certainly a planetful of stranger (and homelier) guys who’ve at least had one go at having a go. They consider it their duty to help Andy out of his dire situation and go to great lengths to help him.

This soundtrack is the key to the big score! Soundtracks are all about setting a mood, so right away you know what to expect from one called The 40-Year-Old Virgin. Sure, it could try to portray the psychological complexity of the situation (though that would be a little creepy), but silly is definitely the safest and most-expected course. And “silly,” “safe,” and “expected” are the three words that best describe the The 40-Year-Old Virgin CD. You don’t need to see the movie to imagine what kind of scene might accompany Michael McDonald’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough,” Lionel Richie’s “Hello,” and “Never Surrender” by Corey Hart. Of course the downfall of using obvious music is that it mirrors the title character’s plight all too well. While his–um–maturity may be a little stunted, one could say the same for the musical maturity of this disc. The world got over “I Ran (So Far Away)” by Flock of Seagulls decades ago, but some in Hollywood never did. This CD is great for goofing around–you just might not want to pop it in when you have a special someone coming over. –Leah Weathersby - read more.

Superbad: The Drawings

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Enthused Art Lover - Erin Aquino -
“Superbad” is not my favorite movie, but it is one that always makes me laugh and is very quotable. I purchased this book for my best friend’s Xmas gift last year. He absolutely loved it! All the penis drawings are hilarious and so creative. It’s definitely a great coffee table book to have around.
Superbad: The Drawings: : The only compendium of 82 hilarious, captioned “phallographics” created exclusively for the movie Superbad.

Everyone who has seen the blockbuster comedy hit Superbad will recall the outrageous phallic foolery featured in the movie, inspired by the character Seth’s obsessive drawings from the third grade.

When Evan Goldberg, Superbad’s co-writer/producer, called his older brother, David, about a job on the movie, David had no idea that he would tap into the unexplored world of phallographics. The brilliant results are these 82, full-color, laugh-out-loud drawings that will surely tickle your funny bone. Some of these illustrations were featured in the end credits of the movie, and audience members are still buzzing about them! Many of these clever depictions are exclusive to this novelty art volume. - read more.

Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express Review

Saturday, July 10th, 2010

I read in the news that people were protesting against Tropic Thunder because its politically incorrect when heard that was the reason that they were protesting I thought why? I saw the movie before people started protesting and I will say it is very offensive but still I have seen worse and those movies have never been called offensive. The movie is very funny I knew I had to go see it in theaters when I first saw the trailer for it I mean how many times do you get to see Robert Downey Jr. in black face. If your going to see this movie you better get to the movies early because they show fake trailers of movies that the actors in the movie star in I was laughing so hard when I saw them. In the movie almost all the actors have personal problems and they deal with their problems while trying to rescue one of their own. One thing I especially like about this movie Tom Cruise who plays a fat bald movie producer his part in the movie had me laughing out loud. Word to the wise don’t bring your ten-year-old kids with you I say you have to be fifteen or up to see it. Anyway this movie is great so go see.

Pineapple Express if had to describe this movie into one word it would be awesome! This movie was great it was funny and had lots of action it’s the type of movie that if you don’t see in theaters you will never forgive yourself for not watching it. If you liked Superbad you are going to love this movie it is one of the best buddy stoner movies I have ever seen Judd Apatow disappoints me with movies all of his movies are great I have yet to see one that isn’t. James Franco was so funny as Saul the drug dealer him and Seth Rogen have perfect chemistry they kind of reminds me of them when they were on Freaks and Geeks.

The plot was great the direction was awesome this movie is so funny you don’t even have to be a stoned to like this movie. I hope that Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen don’t stop writing movies because their ideas are great the way this movies starts was genius and they had well thought out dialogue that made laugh out loud. The action and comedy in this film was great it didn’t have to much or to little of each and the director David Gordon Green did an amazing job with the visuals and camera angels. Something that was really great about this movie was the soundtrack the songs were awesome they all fit in with the seen that they put it with. Go see this movie it is great this movie is kick ass so go see it today.
